This monumental building was built in 1895 - 1899 and used to house Amsterdam's main post office before it was transferred into Magna Plaza, an upperclass shopping mall. The great central hall with galleries on two upper stories is surrounded by arcades and crowned by a sunroof. The best time to visit this photo spot is when weather conditions.

Tip 1: walking towards 9 Straatjes, where you will be able to find some of the cutest shops, not by the canal but on the side and genuinely one of the nicest places to take photos in the whole Amsterdam. Tip 2: walking towards Spui, towards the flower market. One of my favourite cafes is De Brabaantse Aap.

1. Damrak The first spot is Damrak. This spot is perfect for photos in Amsterdam. First, because the houses and canals you see in this photo are typical for Amsterdam. Everyone will immediately recognize it's Amsterdam by seeing this spot! Second, since the crowds won't bother you, you can make a photo here all day.
